Week of December 16-20

Goals for this week

The following tasks need to be completed by the end of the day on Friday, December 20:

1. Take the Pythagorean Theorem test if you were absent Friday, December 13.
2. Make corrections to your test.
3. Retake the standards you did not master.
4. Work on your Pythagorean Theorem Transfer task and submit it.  
5. If you have time complete the 12 days of Christmas activity. 

Once you have completed a task, go to the class list posted in the classroom and check off the task you completed.

Transfer Task

Open it and then copy it to your drive.

To create a copy:

• Click "File".
• Click "make a copy".
• Name the file "Last name, First name- Pythagorean Task".
• Click "ok".
• Go to "File"
• Select "Move to folder"
• Select your math folder that is shared with Mrs. Wohlers or Mrs. Shipp.

Once you have created your document, open your Transfer Task Document, click the blue share link in the top right corner.  Copy the link and paste it in this form.  Click here for the form to share your Transfer Task URL.

Pythagorean Theorem Review

The test over Pythagorean Theorem is Friday, December 13.

Students need to be able to:
•Determine if three lengths make a right triangle or not.
•Find the missing length of a right triangle or three dimensional figure.
•Find the distance between two points on the coordinate grid.

Homework- page 511 #40-45,50.

The students will learn to identify parts of the coordinate plane and graph ordered pairs.

9.3 Pythagorean Theorem and 3D Figures

9.3 Pythagorean Theorem

Tuesday, December 3: The students will learn to find the missing side length of a right triangle using the Pythagorean Theorem.  Homework- page 484 #1-9.

Wednesday, December 4: The students will learn to decide if three sides lengths of a triangle will form a right triangle or not. Homework- page 485 #11-22.

Thursday, December 5: The students will learn to apply the Pythagorean Theorem to different situations and be able to draw a diagram to represent the situation. Homework- page 485 #30-33.

Friday, December 6: The students will apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find unknown side lengths of right triangles. Homework- worksheet 9.3.
